Meet Our Pastor
Biography
Father Kelleher was born in West Chester, PA in 1961. He graduated High School in 1979 from the Kennett Consolidated School District in Kennett Square, PA. He grew up on a mushroom farm owned and operated by his Mother’s family. In 1983 he received a Bachelor of Music Education with a concentration in voice from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.
Father Mark lived as a Trappist Monk for four years at St. Joseph’s Abbey in Spencer, MA (pictured on the right). He entered Immaculate Conception Seminary at Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ studying for the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington. He received a Masters of Divinity from that institution in 1996 and was ordained a priest for the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington on October 26, 1996.
In December of 2000 he received his commission into the Air Force Reserves as a Category B (Individual Mobilization Augmentee) for the 436th Airlift Wing at Dover Air Force Base, Dover, DE. In January of 2002 Ch. Kelleher became a Category A (unit) reservist for the 512th Airlift Wing at Dover Air Force Base, Dover, DE.
Fr. Kelleher came to Our Mother of Sorrows/St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Centreville and Queenstown, MD in June of 2004 as Administrator and was installed as Pastor in February of 2005.
Fr. Mark enjoys reading, biking, walking and antiquing.
